House for Sale! Get your house right here!

There might be nothing so deflating, in most areas, as putting forth a massive effort with high expectations that yields minimal results.
The second day of our open house came and went with few passing through who are definitely in the market, as well as a nice are couple that were examining market comps.
That's the boat Colleen and I were in about a year ago--knowing that we were moving but powerless to do anything other than anxiously marketwatch. Seeing the downturn makes me wonder if we aren't six months too late--but we can't be discouraged enough to drop the price after only one weekend.
1) We may still see some calls later in the week from our marketing in Hillcrest.
2) Some of the people that dropped by may come back.
The bottom line here is that our seeds have yet to blossom. It's a much different market than a year ago, and people aren't bringing their checkbooks to open houses anymore.
We also got lots of compliments on the deck--delighting me. We must have more dinners out there. Yesterday during a two-hour lull between visits we looked at idli (Indian breakfast bun) recipes online and started craving dosas. Fiercely. So I made a couple calls, ran up to Surati Farsan on Black Mtn road and came back with an Indian feast for lunch. If anyone showed up during lunch, they would have been treated to a sight of how outdoor eating should be. In copious quantities.
The pictures are of our newly-cleaned house (not pictured: us walking around freely without steering around boxes or wedding gifts).
